Am I pregnant?? PLEASE READ AND HELPP?
I’m reposting this question to add a few more details and to get some more answers:

Ok, so I have a very irregular period. Sometimes my cycle will be 28 days, sometimes 35. I don’t chart, I’m not TTC but will be very happy if I turn out pregnant. I’ve been getting some weird symptoms (swollen boobs, super tired, ect) so I decided to take a test. I got the First Response Early Result 3 pack, the first came out so faint I thought I was crazy so I took another, yet another faint one but a little darker then the first. This was all in the afternoon and within an hr of each other. I had my friend take the 3rd b/c we know shes not pregnant and she had NO faint line, so it can’t be from the box. So I went to the store and got another 2 pack, took that 3rd test and yet another faint positive.

I’m very impatient so I went to the ER stating I may be pregnant and I’m having cramping pain (which I am, but its very light pain and comes and goes). He does a urine and blood. Both come back negative. So I sadly go about my way.

This afternoon I decided to take the last one that i had and I have yet ANOTHER faint positive…

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! A girl I work with went to the same hospital as me and they told her she wasn’t pregnant with the urine…as of now she’s 5 months pregnant. I’m really hoping it’s not a chemical pregnancy. I’ve been researching this to death b/c the ER doctor had absolutely no answers for me.

My first day of my cycle was January second. I may have ovulated anywhere from the 20th - the 25th but I don’t chart out my cycles so I really don’t know…

Here is the new information:
Yesterday around 4pm, I got dark brown spotting, followed by stomach cramps and then some light bleeding. I of course handled this fantastically (aka, I bawled my eyes out thinking I was having my period). But when I stopped to think about it, whenever I first start my period its ALWAYS heavy right from the start. Its only the last day is it light. @ work last night my lower back was very achey and today I was cramping as well, but again it has been very light. I haven’t needed to change my pad (just change it for sanitary purposes) and only really see blood when I urinate. When I wipe, the color is a lighter red, not bright red like a period.

Any ideas?? I don’t currently have insurance and would like to wait until I have a better idea of whats going on before going to a doctor. I need answers. Has anyone been through this before or even heard of it??
This may sound gross, but I just wiped after urinating and the blood that was on the tissue was mostly blood, but it was also watery/mucus like…I’ve never dealt with anything like this before…still the same pale red color. And not much more blood on my pad (if any) that I can tell..

I would schedule an appt with an OBGYN and until then, try not to worry about it. I know that’s hard but if you are pregnant, stress won’t help. Good luck. If you are pregnant, get on Medicaid. They’ll pay for doctor appts that you had before you got on it.

Costner was far from "ass-kicking" as the mariner in "Waterworld". You seem to forget the atoll drifters gave him a slight working over before trying to turn him into mud for being a "mutie". He then got kicked around by Hopper and the "smokers".

I think Costner would stand there at the counter stuck in an internal conflict as to whether or not say anything to the acne-riddled cashier out of fear of getting a luggie in his correctly numbered nuggets. After a 5 minute scene of him pacing and mulling it over, he’d walk out, short one nugget, muttering under his breath that he just wants to live his life and be left alone - just like he did in "Waterworld", "The War", "3000 Miles to Graceland", "The Postman", "Bull Duram", "Tin Cup", and even "Dances With Wolves".Costner is a pretty one dimensional actor when you think about it.

I have been monitoring the nugget count for years now, and never have I been shorted. It’s really the most amazing thing. Of all the orders they’ve gotten wrong in the most annoying ways, you’d think this would be the most common, but when the count is off it’s always in my favor. I just don’t know what to think about that. I’m glad you brought it up.

He would say nothing, knowing full well that he’d be in the news by that evening if he said anything about his short nugget order.

can an employer unilaterally change the terms of a contract employee's contract?
My husband’s employer has given a 12 hr notice of a change in contract terms. The contract states terms can be "negotiated" but his employer just sent out a memo stating "Effective 12/01//2009….." Can the employer do this? Interestingly, there was a company meeting regarding business finances less than 2 weeks ago and this contract change was not mentioned in any way - all the guys are distraught. What recourse is available, if any? FYI - We live in AZ and he is a transporter.

No he can not unilaterally change a contract.

All the guys need to go to the employer and point out they have a contract and all changes need to be negotiated and no negotiation was done. If he insists his change stands, they can all inform him he has broken the contract and walk out. If they are not willing to walk out, then they have to accept the change. Bummer.

Technically, the contract probably cannot be changed unilaterally.

But think of it this way, the old contract is "over". Accept the terms of the new one or there is no more job. Unless there is a written contract to the contrary, every employee is "at will" and can leave or be fired for no reason or for any lawful (non-discriminatory or retaliatory) reason.

If there is an employee "manual" laying out the terms of employment, that could be used to suggest there are procedures which must be followed for termination or material changes by either party.

Good luck, but get local legal advice before things get out of hand.

Is this too much of a solid in one feeding for a five month old?
We started a couple of weeks ago with rice cereal mixed with breast milk. Today I gave him sweet potatoes after he ate breastmilk. It wasn’t a great feeding, but he did eat a bit, and then I gave him the sweet potatoes from the plastic gerber container. He devoured it! He did so good at eating it, but it worried me that he ate just about 3/4 of the container. I’m sure he ate like that, because he didn’t eat a lot of breastmilk, but what if he has a really good breastmilk feeding and still eats like that? Is it ok for him? Or should I cut him off with like half a container or jar (depending on what I’ve got.) I’m just wondering, because he eats a lot to begin with. He doesn’t sleep through the night yet. He has a great night on occassion, but lately (THANK GOD!) it’s been every three to four hours he’s up. He’s about 25 inches and about 20Ibs. He’s healthy and happy, and doing what he needs to do for a 5/6 month old. I’m just worried, because I’m overweight that I’m doing something wrong. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help
I was talking about cutting off the amount of solids per solid feeding not breastfeeding. I wouldn’t cut off his breastfeeding.
I wasn’t bragging about my daughters weight. I’m pointed out the difference between my children.

It is a tricky time when you introduce solid food (not recommended under the age of 6 months by the way)…but yes, you want to be sure he is still getting enough breast milk as that is the most important part of his diet. So be sure you ALWAYS breastfeed first (or formula) and be sure he fills up on this before you feed him solids. Once he has had a good feeding (milk/formula) then offer the solid food (15-30 min later) and let him eat until he doesn’t want anymore. It is okay, especially since it is sweet potato, something that is healthy for him. They will let you know when they are full, so try not to worry.

feed the baby till he lets you know he is done. I to am a lil overweight and wondered the same thing when my son started eating like a freight train. I thought I was going to let him get fat and unhealthy, but he is fine. You just have to be aware of what you are feeding him. Make sure it is healthy stuff like fruits and veggies. We started my son on cereal (spoon fed, not in the bottle) when he was 3 months old because of his insatiable appetite. He finally started sleeping through the night because he was fuller. He also had some pooing probs that this fixed for him. Your baby will let you know when he is full, or when he wants more. He sounds like he is going to be tall, so get ready for a big appetite.

Ok here’s the deal….why are you introducing solids so early? If you are overweight, you should especially be holding off on introducing solids!! There is no reason to and it is NOT recommended!

If you wait a long while to introduce solids and just feed breast milk you baby will have a much better chance of being slim…..

My mom introduced solids at 6 months for the first 3 kids and then at 12 months for the last 3 kids (all were breastfed) and the first 3 kids are overweight and the last three are trim…….it is all the proof I need!!

On the other hand, you CANNOT worry about him being overweight just yet. First of all, he is not even crawling or walking yet so you can’t expect him to have lost any baby fat yet. Besides at this juncture fat is healthy and good for a baby…….if you really have concerns you should consult your doctor. Don’t cut him off, he knows when he is full!!

Just a comment to another answer - starting solids at 6 months does NOT lead to obesity, it is the recommendation by medical experts. My first daughter started at 5 months. SHe is almost 3 and weighs 20lbs, she is TINY. "That’s all the proof I need". LOL!

Anyhow, to answer your question, it is a bit early to introduce solids, and I would definitely slow down in case he develops a food allergy or intolerance to a particiular food. You don’t want to feed him a whole jar of food only to find out it makes him vomit, LOL!

His main source of nutrition should definitely be breastmilk until he is one year old. How often do your nurse him? My daughter is 7 and a half months and still nurses about 7-8 times in a 24 hour period (she too wakes alot at night, and nurses about 2-3 times in the night). She started solids just before 7 months. She only eats about 3-4 Tbsp of food twice a day, sometimes three times, depending on how tired and cranky she is by dinner time!

I would start with 1-2Tbsp once a day for a while. That will ensure two things - that you are not starting too quickly and that he is still getting enough breastmilk.

I agree that you should slow down or even wait to start solids. There is no reason to rush things. If you fill him up on solids he won’t be getting as much breast milk as he needs to be healthy and to stave off being overweight ( like you are worried about!!

And seriously a 3 year old that is just 20 pounds!! Not really something to brag about…….

Not sure what a "bandie" is (school band, rock band, etc?) but probably guy #1. When I was that age, I wasn’t in any of the "groups", so I’d only date someone who got along with everyone and was laid back enough to be OK with losing some popularity points for dating me.
